Keynote event hosted by V. Badaan. In the session, V. outlined the cycle of colonial academic knowledge, argued for why its practices are harmful, and called for indigenizing knowledge production and dissemination by laying out some practical strategies that we can use as scholars to begin this process. We discussed, as a group, existing processes to decolonize knowledge, based on indigenous methods of knowledge generation, preservation, and dissemination, such as oral history practices. The discussion highlighted the importance of various qualitative research methodologies that are a stepping stone toward generating and preserving Indigenous knowledge.
