Renata’s sound was shaped throughout her years of beat-based explorations, using the decks and drum machines in her deconstruct/reconstruct approach. During her stint in London, she branched out through residencies within the local scene alongside launching her own series under “The Calling” banner. She returned to Beirut in 2016 and joined the Frequent Defect team with whom she shares a similar drive to address collective issues through multidisciplinary art forms.
Nour Sokhon is a Lebanese artist based between Beirut and Berlin. Her creative practice is centered around exploring different methods of working with artistic research including interview material, field recordings and recorded material from an organized site specific intervention. The research is then translated into sound/music compositions, performances, interactive installations and moving image work. She is a member of two sound collectives, Tse Tse Fly Middle East and Heya.
Reda Mehenni is an artist and musician based in Algeria. He is one of the founders of El Moutanakil, a music platform dedicated to the promotion of DJ artists & electronic music producers through residencies and sound experiences. Launched in 2018 by a collective of young Algerians whose motivation is to develop an itinerant concept based on research on the Algerian musical heritage with a goal of creating a sound identity for the Algerian electronic music.
