About the panelists:
Kim McAleese is a curator originally from Belfast, now based in Scotland. She is currently working as Director of Edinburgh Art Festival.
Sharif Sehnaoui is a free improvising guitarist. Along with Mazen Kerbaj he created “Irtijal” (www.irtijal.org) in 2000, a yearly international festival that is the oldest improvised and new music festival in the Arab world.
Hania Mroué is an established film programmer, distributor, and industry professional. She founded and became the director of Metropolis Cinema, the only art house movie theatre in Lebanon, in 2006.
Amani Semaan is the co-founder and director of Beirut and Beyond, a Lebanese organization that promotes and develops independent music from the MENA through a showcase festival, professional programs and European tours.
The panel will take place on January 25th starting 5:00pm at Beirut Art Center.
